First Autococker Build

A little background. I have never owned a cocker before but have always wanted one. I donít know a good portion about the guns so this will be a learning project.

The overall plan will be to build this fairly cheap, I will be milling or hand shaping the bodie. Havenít decided just yet.

I have a few parts already including an ego feedneck and a slide trigger .45 frame and some gunslinger grips.

I will post as I get more or modify parts.

Wait, you have never owned one and you are planning to make your own body from scratch?

Just pick up a cheap cocker for your first, do a half block/mid block/midget/mini on it if you feel the need but that will get you some experience with the platform before digging head first into making your own body not to mention, give you something to measure of you need it

I read it as he's planning on shaping an existing body, not fabricating one from scratch.

In terms of hand shaping a body, I did a similar thing.

Hand Tool Right Feed Cocker project

Mine is ugly and was done with a dremel, sand paper, and malice. If you're going to be doing any crazy cuts or shaping, I'd use machine tools if you have access. Or do a rat build (I do love mine).

I had a drill press (with only drill bits) a Dremel and some bastard files for mine. Here it is before Anno and really before much of the sanding was done.

Here is my current parts. I started shaping the trigger guard to my liking and tried my hand at scroll work with a dremel (it looks like ****.) not really sure how I’m going to make that look any better. I have gunslinger grips so the overall theme is going to be around a old school revolver. The only exception being the body shappong because I have no idea how to make that revolverish haha.

Also if you look closely someone sleeved the eyehole, any idea why or how I should go about plugging it?

More parts should arrive shortly.
