I had a 2011 ANS Akp and it farted a little if I held the pump forward. Shot well.

One spring goes on the valve and keeps it closed. The other goes behind the hammer and hits the valve to release air and propel the ball. Find an animation of a stacked tube blow back, and it will make sense.

I've tinkered around with my KP since i got it back in 2010. All i did was add a regulator and that fixed the farting for me when i first got it. Main spring set screw should be set flush when using a regulator, ideally.
