Another vote for Woodford Reserve here.

My shop has a Blood Oath, Pact 2. I'm very tempted... Anyone know anything about it?

I am a bit of a bourbon enthusiast/hobbyist, self proclaimed, and have likely tried every "low rye" bourbon on the shelf. I prefer the more corn blends myself.

Knob Creek WAS by far my favorite for taste to price. Unbeknownst to most of you (apparently) lovers of the brand....due to demand, Knob quit doing it's 9 year age certification. It was either they raised prices or cut age to keep with demand, and much like the rest of the industry they cut age. What you get now MIGHT be four year, and the difference is in the taste.
I have gone around this area and bought every bottle of the 9 year I can find...and soon there will be no more. The new stuff is priced the same, and down on a level with stuff like Wild Turkey IMO.

I would say my absolute favorites are Bookers Straight (unfiltered, high proof) and Blanton's. I enjoy Elijah Craig to a degree, but it is a bit charcoal heavy due to the 12 year aging.
For price, a fav of mine has been the 8 year Beams...but alas, have been unable to find them either. Even Beam's single barrel 4 year went down to 2. Sad change.

I am currently casting around for another go to to replace Knob. What really sucks is that even IF the KC brand decides to go back to 9 year, I am sure they depleted stock to a degree that we won't see it back for a long time, if ever.....

Elijah Craig had to drop the age statement as well. I did not know Knob was going to drop the age statement, that is sad. Punkncat have you tried angels envy?

Magoo, I have not tried the blood oath either pact 1 or 2, I have not heard good or bad so I am hesitant to drop the money on it.

It's proofed at 98.6 (seriously...), and Pact 2 seems to be a high rye blend. It seems like a novelty limited release more than anything, but I'm still curious...

I'll throw out another vote for Woodford Reserve, also enjoy Amador double barrel. Along with bourbon I like whiskeys, mostly local though.

I don't drink rum as much as I did in the past, and then it was mixed with coke. Don Q Cristal and Lady Bligh (think Jack but with more vanilla flavor).

I'm kind of a self-educated self-medicating alt-health nut so if I were to try bourbon I might go for one of these:

Three of your favorite Kentucky bourbons use 100% non-GMO corn - Liquor Barn

Also loved knob creek, haven't bought in a while, didn't know about the age thing now.

I do not like Woodford.

Bah maybe I'll just drink beam

Dang! Bookers is no joke. I can sort of appreciate it but I need to be in a certain "mood" (I.e brave that night) to drink it. Haha maybe I'm just a rookie.

I drink most everything neat. I'm not really bothered by high proof stuff anymore. Bookers is nice, I like so many of them but the only two I have drank a whole bottle of are the four roses and E H Taylor single barrel.
