Thanks for that FAQ sheet! Although the bit about barrel mods and cutting/glueing the shroud didn't make sense to me.

I think the theory at the time was that the Stingray 1's barrel shroud, which extended beyond the barrel itself, was impairing the gun's accuracy.
The solution some found was to cut a section of the shroud out and re-glue the two remaining parts so that the aluminum barrel would extend past the end, unobstructed. That way you still retained the front sight blade and kept the gun's looks.
I tried that myself, in addition to polishing the barrel with a shotgun brush and toothpaste.

I saw some new stingray pull pin sets on ebay recently. Are those hard to find? I remember someone searching for odd pull pins, but I don't remember the marker.

Those old parts pop up periodically, especially on iiSports clearance.

I just found a stingray tune up parts kit in my recently acquired craigslist collection. In case you are in need.

To my surprise the gun I picked up came with a first aid kit. I just picked up the quick pull pins on ebay for $6 brand new in package free shipping. There are usually 3 or 4 sets on ebay at any one time lately.

The only ones you really need are the two long ones for the barrel.

That's what I was thinking. I really don't like the look of the rings, but I would definitely like metal pins.
