Rainmaker mod information

Hopefully this thread can be expanded and maybe even stickied at some point.

There are always questions about Rainmakers and mods that should be done to them... I wanted to centralize them here so there's a main spot for information.

To start off:

Mad Marty's website, immortalized by the Wayback Machine:

Mad Marty's Mods

The RMOG, also from the Wayback Machine. Not all the links work, but if you hover over the hyperlink you see can web addresses that can be punched into the Wayback Machine.

Rainmaker Owner's Group

Feel free to add any threads you might find, and I'll add as I have time.

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them.”

Thanks for this! I just picked up some rainmakers and am basically new to them. I am already planning to make an arduino board at the moment, but of course I want to do all the necessary hardware mods. Any idea if any of mad martys hardware still exists somewhere to order?

No, unfortunately... MadMarty doesn't do them anymore, as far as I know. I've done the basic mods for myself and for a member on here, and they're not really difficult to do, if you understand what the mods do.

When you're building your board, make sure you are able to program in at least 50ms of dwell. RM's need a lot of time to cycle, especially without any MadMarty mods.

I'll offer my old thread, if only for the pics. Pics can be hard to get of these mods.

Also, I was working on the carrier latch mod when I went to the roll pin on the hammer. The roll pin means you have to grind less from the carrier face and the latch, and it keeps the latch spring tucked in (no drag on the body). The carrier ramp face still needs polishing though.

Great thanks for the heads up. I thought I heard someone saying that at some point. Looking at the animation on ZDS I can certainly understand why. Cant wait to roll up my sleeves on these little beasties.

Dude, perfect. Saving that link for when I finally have the time to fart with them. For now I am on a rampage collecting all my childhood curiosities but no immediate team to dig into them. Bought 3 rainmakers this past week haha. I just cant say no at the moment.
