Anyone using Wind Mobile?

A lot of their plans seem quite reasonably priced, and the whole no contract thing seems pretty awesome. I'm wondering how they compare to other service providers.

well i am regrettably locked into Rogers for the next year and a half but as soon as that contract is up I will be looking else where. If Wind Mobile is still around, and I hope it is, I will be looking into them.

We need several more cell phone companies in Canada to create more competition. Cell rates in Canada are absolutely STUPID.

I know Wind mobile wants to put up over 50 towers in the next year and a half.

I worked for Rogers for 8 years. You may be able to move to Fido without a cancellation fee as they have the same ownership (but still a different company).

Why do you want to leave Rogers ? Did you know that you can upgrade your phone before your contract ends ? If you play your cards right and now what to ask for, you can pretty much write your own plan. I have 2 phones with everything and fat stack of minutes. I pay less than $50 a month including tax for both. Rogers and Fido use the same towers and the technology is very good and current.

Wind is mostly owned by an Egyptian company and is in its infancy. Expect a lot of growing pains and a crappy coverage area if you switch.

my issue with rogers is how much i am being charged for how little i use my phone.

but all the companies are like that.

i have a blackberry that i dont need and cant get rid of until the contract is up, i use almost none of the features and i want to cancel the data plan but rogers will charge me $100 to do that.

actually its not really the wireless side of rogers i have issues with, its the cable side. and i already canceled that lol.
