Operation Craig - Just got an email

This place was a paintball field in a former mental hospital near Picton. It closed down in 2007 due to some leasing bull****. I didn't get to play there, but from what I've read it was probably one of the most amazing fields in Ontario.

The owners moved on to start Sudden Impact Scenarios a little while later.

Anyways, this email got sent to me a couple of hours ago:
Quote:
It is official! The once loved facility of Operation Craig will be coming back online the first part of July 2010! More of that serious paintball action, and we are going to be part of it!
Contact Justin Pollard @ 613.476.7263 or info@impactscenarios.com for more information! Game On!
Does this mean it's going to open up again?

Oh man, I know that asylum!
It's right next to the airport where I learned to fly. In fact it's lawn was designated as our primary emergancy landing area in case of a low level incident while going off 10 there.

Anywas, don't mind me. Just reminiscing.

Although i never went there was some safety issues the couple games the rest of my team went to. Mainly some guys showed up with some less lethal tib's and were shooting WAAAAY hot. Hopefully they rectify this issue this tiem around

Interesting. Especially if it's at the old facility. It was a super-cool place to play if you could disregard the black mold smell in one of the buildings and the bushballers who decided to play at whatever FPS they thought was best.

There's actually a WHOLE lot more to the reason why paintball stopped at the old place, but I'm not gonna get into that here.

If they can get more refs in there and enforce the rules, it'll be a great place to play.

I agree with Andry.

The original big game they had a few years ago was a bit sketchy in more ways than one.
The open electricity panels for one, the choice of heat or lights , but not both, was another.

The previous business operators had an .... interesting...way of doing business...and running a paintball game.

That being said, it is potentially one awesome place to play. Creeping through that place at O'Dark Buffalo in the morning was excellent. For some reason the old kitchen gave me the willies. In the pitch black is the only way for a pumper to get mulitple surrenders .

This is one of those places where if by some stretch there is a game you go, for fear that it will never happen again.

It was fun to play but certainly not safe, people breaking windows, guys in the dead zone with bottled beer in their 4+1's, people taking off their goggles in the roadway, people on the roof, terranzo flooring covered in paint, non cool burning smoke, chrono range shooting into the path made for one team to enter the field....

I had a hell of a great time, but certainly found it to be one of those places where you mind your own safety for fear of some idiot shooting you in the staging area. I broke 2 ribs on the run from the bushline to the small white outpost building when I tripped on some debris and landed right on a curb...

Bring the first aid kit and keep your goggles on your head even when you think it is safe

Maybe we could get a MCB meet-up going so we can all enjoy the black mould and smoke and broken glass before the place shuts down again?
