Frink, that makes me cringe everytime I see it...sucks!

Back on topic though, I agree that USPS is probably your best bet. My last UPS package had a declared value of $48 and I paid $51 in duties/taxes/handling.

I believe that is different. Just as you can send a "gift" that is free from duty, I'm not sure on the regulations or how they are checked, but you can call Border Services to find out for sure.

Gifts are free from duty but after $80 total they are not exempt from tax.
