OT: Biggest waste of money in my life

I'm about to leave on holidays to BC. I needed to get my "Personal Pleasure Operator Card" aka boat license. I found a random link one day on a local fishing forum to get your card online.

I used the site, it was fine. Passed...

But what a useless waste of money it was to obtain the card. You don't need even 1/2 a clue to write test. Someone who doesn't even know what a boat is could write it and pass. It's not going to make the world a safer place. Only thing it did was waste my "hard earned dollars" on another piece of paper.

Yeah I got mine when they first came out. It's been in my wallet, never removed, ever since.

The only good thing about them is they don't have to be renewed. The cost of the exam was probably in the $30 to $40 range.

I've had mine for a while. Once again, it's never left my wallet, and I frequently drive boats.
