Installing a backcheck valve in a Phantom

First install the spring onto valve depressing pin in the Phantom vertical ASA..this will work on any Phantom bucket changer..

Next get ahold of the supplied freshly punched out flat seal...I have sausage fingers so I have to use the Hemostats..

Drop it flat onto the back end of the pierce pin in the upper part of the bucket changer

How does this style compare to the check valves that use the tiny oring and ball bearing?

Well I have tried that way and have found it to not always seal up... Best I can tell without cutting a bucket changer in half and having a look is where the leading edge if the tap that is used for the pierce pin(1/4-28 tpi) leaves a small angle on some of the changers and that allows the o-ring style to slip off to the side a little.... this is my best guess..

So far on all my phantoms this system works 100%..

EDIT: This is also how AGD did it on the Micro CA II .....

You can also mess with them and vent air from a moderately full 12 gram to have them scurry up on you only to eat autotrigger.

Will be ordering a set when I get my 12 grams a few months from now.
