5 Degree Block not Securing ASA?

Got a used 5 degree block to use with a dovetail mounted mini CP on/off, but when I tighten down the screw on the block, it doesn't hold the ASA on. Not sure what is missing but if I recall, don't these have a ball bearing inside that provides tension to secure the ASA?

There definitely should be a ball bearing in there. Have no fear. You can probably find one at your local hardware store for less than $1.
