Single shot detent

If you remove the feed neck screw collar, a spyder detent fits in nice and snug. While it isnít centered on the ball, it is apparently long enough to bend and hold it in place.

How do you keep the detent from popping out?

I drill a hole just ahead of the screw. Counter sink a hole in the feedblock for the head of the detent. I do it on all my stockclass feed Phantoms. Lapco vert feed adators allready have the hole for the detent cus that's what's on the new grey ghosts.
My only problem is finding an inexpensive source for spyder detents

It’s pretty snug. The screw coils seem to grip the rubber of the detent cap. I used this setup at stocktoberfest last year paired with a .681 big shot. Didn’t have a single rollout all day. I put a piece of electrical tape over it for good measure, but I’m not sure it was necessary

I have a 2008 Ghost and have often lamented how my phantom doesn't have the same detent. Never dawned on me to just install my own. Glad to hear it works for someone.

Cheap spyder detents you say? Azodin sells their detents for 50 cents a pair. Shipping is reasonable as well. The base is thinner than some spyder style detents, but those vary so much you might actually need one with a thinner base. If I need a thicker base, I stick a 4x1 metric oring behind the detent and the problem is solved.

For some reason linking is acting up (forcing an https to come up before the link), so here's an old fashioned address to copy and paste:
store.azodin.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=79_80&product_id=71
