I will concur if you want to use inserts the C'bored barrels are fantastic. I prefer factory non bored barrels and detent rings. The ASP mod is also fantastic.

I just used a .679 on Graffiti this past Saturday. I've gone as far down as .675 for G.I. paint. The largest sizer I have used in the last year was .682

0.682 and go. It seems to be the crowd favourite.

Non freak/c-bored factory barrels (aka the normal ones) are 0.686.

Seriously consider a detent option! Air Soldier Products detent mod is the gold standard. But anything helps, a lot.

The C'bored barrels are great - I have a few of them. No issues. I do have one insert that won't go into any of the barrels because it is slightly deformed.

That is the most likely issue when an insert feels like it's stuck or won't push in easily - the insert has been bent slightly out of shape some how. This is the reason you should go for stainless steel inserts; they hold their shape better than the aluminum ones. You can get them on Amazon last time I checked. I wouldn't bother with anything over .68X. With the C'bored barrels the insert should just drop right in with no pushing required.

I also love my lapco one piece barrels, and have ranted ad-nauseum on the topic of what the best barrel strategy is. Not to re-hash all that, but if you have quality paint, underboring will provide the best efficiency, and with a soft shooting gun like a phantom, you can underbore pretty aggressively.

Using a c'bored barrel with inserts would be the easiest way to always get a good underbore with a phantom, no matter what size the paint is. If you're playing with 12grams, you may appreciate the added efficiency (more shots).

I have tried every barrel you can think of on my Phantom. The C-bore can’t be beat by any barrel 3x it’s price. (Cocker and CCI)

Also ASP detent mod is amazing! Makes it so you don’t need to size your paint even overbored you won’t get rollouts.

That's a good point - c'bore barrels are a great value too. A one piece barrel that takes freak inserts for 30 something dollars? Thank you please!

Just to add, the C-bored are great barrels. Don't hesitate. Absolutely worth every penny.
