Questions about CCI C’Bored barrels

1. Is it worth it to get one? I heard they have problems with the inserts getting stuck, not fitting properly, sliding out, etc. Would it be better just to get an auto cocker threaded Freak Barrel like a DW?

2. I don’t know much about freaks but I saw that the barrel on CCI was a one piece and I thought that freak barrels were usually two piece and screw around the inserts

Thanks!

Well you would need a round body Autococker threaded body for an Autococker threaded barrel. I love my CCI bored barrel. They are great in my opinion and I've never had a problem

Never heard of any problems with the c-bores that Mike sells. I've used mine for very small paint (smaller than my Lapco barrels go) with no issues. I do have a friend who left his freak in his Phantom sometime around 2008 or so and last year attempted to get it out...there had been broken paint in the barrel so it took a lot of running water and Dawn dish soap to free it up. (His barrel was 'freaked' long before the c-bore existed.)

Even the actual freak backs insert the freak insert from the breech end. I don't know about the XL Freaks...they seem to be different. Someone who knows better will likely chime in on those.

I love my c bore. Cci barrels are tack drivers. Never had an insert get stuck and even the freak barrels the inserts just slide in, no screw in.

My c-bored barrel has zero issues. Inserts slide in and out easily and sit where they should.

The C-bored barrels from CCI are very very good. I still like mine unbored, but my C-bored barrels work very well.

I still think that the ASP detent mod and a stock CCI barrel performs better than a C-bored barrel with or without the ASP detent mod.

I have to agree with this (mostly). My phantom shoots darts with the asp mod and a .681 lapco bigshot (hence the mostly). That said, my c-bored Revolution is no slouch.

Okay so i'm probably going to go with the C'Bored 14 inch barrel from CCI. Now for inserts, im thinking about getting a couple stainless steel ones since I don't want to blow money on the whole kit. What are the two or three insert sizes that are most commonly used? I usually shoot Graffiti

I have good luck with the 682 or 679 inserts in my C-bored barrel.

.682 should be on the money for graffiti. Or the empire .680
