^ the only way I can see the threads being trashed is when people don't run a return spring and hex nut snug against the handle. I know it would add to cost, but they could consider using a threaded metal insert on the acrylic handles. The insert could be coarse threaded into the acrylic itself or just bonded in.

I have them on 4 and have only had one feed neck crack. Never a pump handle issue. Knock on wood.

True, but with the rise of detent/insert/widget mania Iíve had my barrel off more times this year than ever before and every time the handle needs to be tightened down. Asking every user to batten down the hatches on what is IMHO a pretty flimsy design every single time they play isnít fair. It should just be strong to begin with. I love my Phantoms but the actual pump situation is IMO far below many other guns at price points both higher and lower. The Trracer, for example, may let some dirt in the sides in some rare situations but itís as strong as a brick s house and it doesnít slowly wear the anno off the barrel by riding on it as itís main contact point.

The under cockers fix both of those issues but are nearly half the cost of a basic Phantom and they make the gun a total PITA to tear down if you have the vert ASA which many many people do now.

Glory days are great but improvements are hopefully also in the works since it was ongoing before. A metal insert on all pump handles wouldnít be a bad idea. Maybe Iíll figure out an easy way to do that and describe it here.

Ive yet to use anything besides the gold detent ring and just snug up the nut on the rod. No problems have arisen so far...the threaded insert idea is worth looking into for sure. Im just hyped the brand lives on.

Me too. It’s an excellent turn of events.
