The end of the Revolution / New Phantoms coming

It's official. The new owners of CCI have made the following announcement:

Quote:
Exciting news, and some bad news…

First the Bad. Most of you are aware that we have two models of Phantom; the Classic Phantom, and the newer Phantom Revolution. Well, we will not be releasing any Phantom Revolution markers. The Revolution pictured above was built in November this year, as the first of a small batch of Revolutions that we intended to release. Unfortunately, after extensive testing, we are uncomfortable with the performance of this model. We, as the new owners of Phantom, are completely dedicated to keeping the extraordinarily high standards set by our predecessor, Mike Cassidy. As such, we will be focusing all our efforts on the production of Classic Phantom paintball markers, of which we can be certain of the performance.

Now for the exciting news!
We will begin offering Classic Phantoms for sale to our loyal (ph)ans starting next week, on December 13th! These first batches will be very limited, and will be offered to those on our waiting list, starting at the top and working our way down. We intend to take care of everyone on the wait list before offering markers to the general public through this website.

If you are not yet on the wait list, and would like to be added, please email Sales@PhantomOnline.com

I don't see this as an issue. The Revolution is neat and all, but classic Phantoms are bread & butter man.

Yep. Frankly, I'm surprised that they were even considering releasing another batch of Revolutions. Mike practically had a fire sale on them since they weren't selling well the first time around.

The thing that sucks is regular Phantoms weren't really selling much either. They only flew out the door once Mike announced he was closing. If they only end up offering black, and the price is higher (which it will likely have to be) its going to be a tough sell.

:edit: and to clarify I truly hope this is NOT the case. I would love to see a new army of acid wash Phantom with colored acrylic parts in stock and flying out the door.

Estin i dig what you're saying .With a few cocker flavored exceptions there really aren't any pumps flying off the shelves.

You're not wrong. With thirty years or so worth of pump guns out there, I'd say it's fair to state that most pumps bought are from the used market. A lot of the limited paint hype has also been transitioning over to the magfed scene lately. Unless you want something special, a new pump can be a bit of a hard sell these days.

They should add an "ASP" style detent to the classic Phantom body's. Then they would be perfect.
