The New CCM Sniper Rifle Thread
Ok pics first and I'll gab about it later.

CCMachinist 04-14-2010 02:40 PM

here is a pic of the AR-15/M16 style of grips. We are going to use the style on the right

This is the style we may end up using. Of course it will have to be modified. There will be two styles one for shells and one that just feeds the FS paintball

Not it won't be removable. Again, expect changes in the final product.

We will make 2 style of magazines. One will use the traditional shells. The other will feed the FS only into a locked in the receiver shell sizer.Delrin shells are a possibility.

CCMachinist 04-14-2010 09:40 PM

we made some radius cuts today. its pretty slow going but the first part always is.

are you saying these could possibly be used with blank shot gun cartridges?

and if it hasn't already been said enough.. Price!?

The shells are actually sizers. The First Strike like round paintballs vary in size.
Shot shells would have to be modified slightly plus they wouldn't have the sizing capability.

Pricing has not been established.

I don't think this will affect the price of our other guns. This is totally different than anything we have ever made.

This will be a very low production gun. Maybe a hundred or so.

Sorry, not even close.

Find a few wooded acres and hunt each other down. If your not shooting 60 yards plus you would not be using the full potential of the FS or the rifle.

CCMachinist 04-16-2010 02:43 PM

We will have it off of the fixture plate soon. I will do another pic then.

kind of like an AR lower. But much better.

if 100 rifles sold, we would make more.

Good suggestion Repo. They even offset scopes on real guns.

Warne Scope Mounts New Red Dot Offset Mount

There is a video somewhere on these mounts.

CCMachinist 04-19-2010 03:55 PM

Ok, the lower came off the mill today. Of course this is only the right side. The left side will go a lot faster.

Your money is not that safe.We will also be standard style rifles. Like the M24 and so on.

Wait... You guys are branching into firearms? Or does that mean you're going to do different models based off the design?

First Strike guns. Of course its not much more effort to go to real steel at this point. But paintball is more fun and no paper work.

Nice Eye candy and a great new toy! You can't sell the One real one so this one you Have to Keep!!!:gunsfiring:

Actually real guns would be easier to make. You don't have to worry about an air system.

We really haven't tried anything other than traditional barrels. I'm sure someone will come up with a magic barrel.

Maybe TA has tried it. Or CCM.

No, I have done just smooth bores so far. I know FS doesn't like raw barrels. A little WD-40 in the raw barrel made it go zippidy do da. Let me back up. That was our delrin FS don't like raw barrels.

The curious thing is when you look down the barrel after a few dozen shots the barrel looks like it has straight rifling in the bore. I have no idea whats causing it. It looks like dust. It cleans out easy enough.

Now you guys know why we stopped working on the SR1. We were making the S6.5 and a few other things for LL.

up to the top

I closed the old thread and moved ALL of CCMachinists posts into one wonderful array of pics and information here.

Whee McGee 06-16-2010 01:04 PM

Thanks for the cleanup. I appreciate being able to see all the information without sorting through all the pages.
I'd also like to thank CCM for continuing to produce such spectacular pieces of work. I'm sure this will be well worth the patience everyone is attempting to show, and we're all very eager to see the finished product. :)

Now i can ask some questions i have been wondering.

Will the mags be composite or aluminum?
Will the shells be composite or aluminum?

I could potentially see some cost savings making these two parts some sort of composite material. It would make replacing shells and mags WAY cheaper.

On another note. Will this take its very own barrel? Or do i hear cocker threads?

LU_aDaK 06-16-2010 08:59 PM<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value=""></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

In the video they state that it comes with composite magazines, I would think CCM would do the same.

Barrel is an interesting thought. I am not sure how they are going to target that, being as it will be quite long. It would be interesting for ccm to chime in on that....

ironchef97 06-17-2010 01:53 AM

incynr8, can you add these photos to the first post?

Butch 06-17-2010 02:22 AM

The rifling/dust you mentioned WAY back, is I believe, plastic from the fins rubbing off. My barrel after shooting 1 round, had a small plastic streak down it.

EDIT: Any idea on possible pricing? Even a tiny inkling?

pumpbusters 06-17-2010 02:24 AM

Do you have any estimate of the price yet?

incynr8 06-17-2010 08:00 AM

I added the pics to the first post, hope thats ok with CCM.
