The CCM Marker Comparison Thread is finished for now...

Check in the stickies above.

I see this thread as supplementing Spoon's awesome thread on the CCM options.

Let me know what you think or if you would like anything added.

What about the J2s? Or J2L? I can understand not adding in every RF gun, but personally I would love to see the difference between an 03 J2 and the others, etc.

Or is this for just available guns? I suppose if that's the case then why is the SS-25 there? Anyhow.. Just thinking out loud.

The thinking was this Carter

1) CCM don't make cockers anymore.
2) I wanted to focus on markers that are still manufactured or are in heavy supply on the used market. J2's were designed as cockers and don't exist in huge supply on the used market.
3) The J2L isn't in production any more and was very limited in its run.

With all of that said - I also was limited by what markers I had statistics on and could verify were measured the same and in similar manners.

I would love to have access to the two types of J2's - or the the RF's. However, I do not have them.

If I had good photo's (white background - black marker) and measurements - I would be happy to add them.

Any efficiency numbers going to be added?

I do find the thread very useful already though.

The efficiency numbers aren't solid good numbers - I am loathe to add them without any serious testing.

I could do an informal type of testing - with an efficiency scale - say - 1 to 10 where 10 is the most efficient.

Without good numbers - I just don't want to pretend I have them. Right now - no one - that I am aware of does.

However, I am willing to put them up if anyone has access to 6 to 10 CCM markers and can do a controlled efficiency test.

It is a tough bill to fill.

What about the T2 w/ breech inserts? Logically it's going to add a few ounces.

I have a S6, J2L, 2 SS-25's, S6.5, and a mech S5. If you would like any info for your chart, let me know and I will do what I can to get you that info.

The J2L and S6 are pretty much identical aside from milling so it could be included in the S6 portion.

Crazy,

I have all of the markers you listed except for you the J2L.

I know all of the statistics except for weight, height, and length (although I cannot imagine they differ much from the S6.

So - if you want to here is what is needed:

Use a Mid Rise (standard with the CCM marker) a CCM Straight Rail, and a CCM ASA and measure the following:

1) Length (From Back block to pump - with pump in the forward position).
2) Height (From top of Midrise to the bottom of the ASA - this will be a bit tricky as it isn't easy to measure in a straight line - so do your best to pull the tape measure straight and estimate the measurement).
3) Weight - no barrel, hopper, or tank with the Straight rail and CCM ASA. If you have anything extra on it - like a hitman arm or a return spring - take it off for the measurement. (Use an accurate scale - I used a diet scale accurate to the 1/2 ounce) and give me a weight measurement.

If anyone has a picture of a J2L in black with only a white background that is what is needed for the thread as well.

Also, if anyone has a T2 with inserts that can take an accurate weight measurement (like listed above) that would be great as well. Weigh it with no barrel, a midrise, straight rail, and ASA. One weight with an insert in and one weight without an insert in. No barrel either way.

Could you put in release dates? I, for one, would like to know when they hit the market.
