S6.5 shot-to-shot consistency dropping

Hey all,

Had my S6.5 for about 10 months now and being too busy to do much of anything I've probably played about 12 games with it since I've bought it.

When I first bought it, it was shooting +/-4 over the crono, last couple of games at my local field it's been more like +/-15. I always paint match before the game and my top tube seems to be relatively clean. Other than cleaning my bolt, breach and barrel that's about all the maintenance I need to do right? The marker has seen all of about 1800 paintballs but I don't know if maybe some shell fragments got into the lower tube maybe?

My friend uses a WGP selectfire and she was getting similar fluctuations so I'm inclined to think crappy paint but you guys have any thoughts?

And before I leave myself open to the typical comment, no I will not give it to you because it's broken

Is the lower tube dirty?

Yeah if you havent cleaned out your lower tube yet your marker is now telling you
its time. The little slot at the top of the back of the lower tube collects debris and will
give you horrible consistency issues if you do not deal with it. Check out "slot blockers"
in the dealers sections, they will solve that issue for you altogether. Hope that helps

It likely is not your bottom tube - but clean that anyway.

It is likley your paint.

Clean your bottom tube - hammer and all - reassemble. Check your reg and make sure it is consistent.

If those two are good - it is almost surely the paint.

So to clean the lower tube I'm going to have to unscrew the grub screw in the hammer right?

Not all the way, just back it out enough so that the hammer slides out. If you count how many times you turn the Allen wrench it makes timing it later easier.

I'm fairly new to my S6.5, can someone either post a link to a video, or show some pics, link a thread, whatever, to help explain taking the lower tube apart? I've taken the hammer out, but I didn't really want to risk going any further.. Some visuals would really help me feel more comfortable.

Check the manual sticky thread. TF has some maintenance videos that are really good a explaining how to do it.

If you have taken the hammer out - that is all that is needed right now. Clean the hammer and bottom tube real well - and reassemble dry - no lube.

Check your reg with a reg tester and make sure it is consistent.
