velocity issues...

im having trouble getting a new to me s6b to get above 260 fps...

the reg sweetspots at 230 fps with the ivg 2-3 turns in then i try and slowly up the fps using the ivg, it shoots up to 260 ish around 6 turns in then the valve gets sticky(if thats the word im looking for..) ive cleaned and relubed the reg,
the hammer and tube is clean (i dont have a tool to get the valve out tho) i just put in a new mainspring from ccm as the one that came in it was so heavy i couldnt move the ivg from flush without it venting.. and trying to sweetsot the reg with it was yeilding like 320 fps

anyways i have some time to play with it tomorrow so if anyone has any ideas i could try it would be greatly appreciated

Try replacing the o-ring on the piston in your regulator, N70‐113

edit: and is it a series 5 basic or a series 6 prototype?

Do you have a reg tester?

The best way to do this is to turn the IVG in three turns, start with the reg at zero and slowly crank it up. When it hits 300 FPS, you're golden.

He could mean an older S6, mine's one of the brindle camo ones from 2008 with a serial number reading S6BXXXX

With Series 6's they are more of a balanced valve. Set the reg at 300 PSI and then mess with IVG - forget the sweet spot for now.

SengHing- setting the ivg 3 turns in and turning up the hpr sweetspots at 230-240 fps then starts to decrese... i can meek out another 20 fps(+-) turning in the ivg after setting the reg to peak... confuses me as to why the valve is hitting max so soon, from the little cocker experience i have from the late 90s (lol!) this meant the main spring was too light for the valve if i remember correctly??

Talfuchre- heading out to steal buddies tester as soon as i send this off

Inferno- i checked the piston oring when i cleaned it it seemed fine? i do have a kit for torpedo regs here i will see if i have one... and shes an S6B
after doing a little research on here i found that SuperStanchey owned this gun awhile back and had the same issue, which i think is why there was a super heavy spring and a stock wgp IVG in it ( i looked up S6 hitting 240 MAX) i ordered a new ivg and mainspring thinking the originals had just been robbed from it
