S6.5 questions

Hey guys. I was playing with my s6.5 recently and noticed slight fps issues (inconsistent) with a little bit of fart/puffing.. I tore into it and cleaned reg, pulled the lowers and also the grip frame apart. First time for both in almost a year for a little cleaning and polishing. I noticed the lube (hatersauce) turned really oily and black. It looked like i put motor oil on it instead of hatersauce the last time i cleaned it. Ive never seen it and wish i took pictures before wiping it all down. I wonder if it was the reg that make it that way or just the year of abuse without pulling the lowers and doing a full cleaning and detail. I will say. Once i completed the cleaning and polishing. ohhhh its back to being smooth and very consistent over the chrono once again. Just wondering what you guys think.?

You should clean it more frequently. That is from wear.

my general rule of thumb is if you look at your hammer and see debris/black crap, pull and clean

the lighter main spring in a t2 and 6.5 will be more affected by debris and crud than a standard wgp cocker with a pump kit on it

i only polish my internals every 6-8 months (playing weekly)

i pull/clean/oil my lowertube monthly

Dude - read the manuals above.

NEVER grease the hammer - or use any lube.

This is the issue.

TF nails it. I add a tiny drop of tri flow to the hammer and then forget about it for a few weeks at a time.

Huh. I always thought that you were supposed to run the hammer dry on the 6.5s.

EDIT: yep..just read TFs post.

I always use a drop of triflow on my hammer. Never had an issue. But that could be because normally I clean my gun after each use, so that drop of oil could be dried up by the time I use it the following weekend..

No clue - do you play snake? Oil in that slot is a dirt magnet. Oil on a s6, s5, ss25 and the like is fine.

Sometimes. I've played on solid dirt before and didn't have much of an issue. Of course I clean my hammer after every outing.
I think the only issue is when you get hit by a paintball in the lower tube and full submersion into mud.
