autotrigger nub question

I just got a new 86 frame and autotrigger. The kit came with both a screw and a nub for the pump arm. If I use the nub, do I locktite it into the pump arm? I'm a little surprised that it doesn't have a hex on the inside to help screw it down more firmly.

The little pin on the pump arm sits inside of the slot in your AT arm.

You can see it in the picture below

I had bought a new pump arm too, so the pin didn't come pre-attached to the arm. After I screwed the pin into the pump arm, it seemed pretty easy to unscrew. There's no where to stick a allen key, so I'm only able to hand tighten it.

I'm think a little dab of blue loctite is the solution, but I just wanted to confirm with the experts.

A little loctite is the way to go.

Thank you sir! Would hate to loctite it in and then find out there's a better way to do it.

Yep, you're doing it right. Avoid using pliers or vice grips, as these will mar the pump arm and pin pretty easily...

Does CCM sell the nubs? I do not see them on their site. I could always email Mel, but am also curious...would there be any issue using the nub on an SS-25 vs the screw that has a head?

Thanks

i actually just asked rod about this the other day

i know the nubs are available, but they arent on the site anymore, im sure if you call for one they can provide

the main difference between the nub and the screw depends entirely on the AT arm/frame, with older style frames, the at arm/cam would fall right out if you removed the bolt, newer style frames use a pin of some sort to retain the AT cam inside the frame (they like to fall out if you turn the frame upside down) if you have a "retained" style cam, then theres no reason you HAVE to use a bolt

I have a modern frame with the retention pins on my SS-25. I want a nub, but feel bad calling...maybe I will wait till the ICS is available and order them at the same time.
