CCM lower tube issues...

I built a pump marker out of a PTP pre-2k body and dropped CCM goodies all inside, but im having issues.

1. I can't get the velocity to get any above 250fps.
2. Velocity is erratic. It can jump from 120-250 fps.
3. Valve hates 250+ psi. (Isnt the sweet spot about 300-350psi?)

The steps Ive taken...

1: set reg @ 300
2: adjust the ivg, but i have to adjust it nearly all the way in. Which pushes on the valve and gases the marker.
3: Put a new reg on it.
4: repeat all the steps. Still same problem.

I am not sure what is wrong here and I really want to use this marker!

CCM springs too? The right springs make a big difference.

That 300-350psi operating pressure was for 2k and newer. I'm pretty sure pre 2k ran at higher pressures. I'd call CCM to make sure you are using the right parts. All my Snipers/Cockers are 2k, so I'm no expert.

I did ask to make sure what parts I needed and went with that. All my cockers are pre-2k and i know they liked higher psi, but when i crank it up higher the valve really hates it i mean to the point i am getting constant 112fps or non-registering fps that I can throw harder type.

Mel,

Rod was very helpful and friendly. I will try out his recommendations, but it will be a few weeks before i get back near a chrono to test out the marker. He said it might be possible that the valve stem is the cause of the issue.

I didnt get a chance to thank him before my phone dropped the call. But THanks ROD!

Bumping this back up...

I have finally tested out what Rod suggested. Still does not work.
I also noticed after the move I can not find any of my receipts for the valve. How can i get this valve replaced/fixed?
