Early CCM pump kit?

So I made the assumption that this is an early CCM pump kit but wanted to see if anyone could verify anything for me. This came with a marker I recently purchased.

While someone suggested that it is a recent kit that someone cut down and sanded, I am hesitant to believe that as the front of the handle is completely even in its roundness and there appears to be a spot for a jewel of some sort. Additionally, the pump guide rod is quite different from more modern models with flat ends for screwing in with a wrench as well as the flutes on the rod.

I added the gloss black plate, it came with an orange one of a similar (possibly identical) type.

Any info would be very helpful, thank you!

Looks like a cut down standard round handle and they cut it back to the point it exposed the hole drilled in the handle for the guide rod.

I wouldn't know what Jason Chipley made in his garage but I have been making CCM parts since 99 and I have not seen this modification. The early pump handles were longer with smaller grooves. Our guide rods used to be made in 2 pieces but that changed to a one piece with the Series 6 (2006)

Or whatever they were using it on they tried to fit a CCM handle on a non CCM guide rod that was longer so in the process of drilling it out they drilled threw the front of the cut down pump handle, then plugged with the material they cut off. Instead of using a longer cocking rod or cutting the guide rod to fit.
