Does a rifled barrel make a big difference?
How are the hammerhead compared to the armson?
At this point, sit back and wait for the Carmatech Nemesis barrel. It's sure to outperform everything currently on the market due to its unique rifling that actually cuts grooves into the FSR.

Thanks a lot,

I'll get a new one ...

I now have a few furniture questions:
The buffer tube needs a castle nut? Does it also needs the ring or that just for a lanyard?
The barrel adapter seems to have threads on the outside, is it for a standard floating handguard?

For rifled barrel, it it better to go towards A5 or hammerhead threads?

The buffer tube will need a castle nut. It does not need a ring if you don’t want it.

The barrel adapter accepts any AR handguard, free floating or otherwise.

Highly recommend either A5 or Autococker threads, not Hammerhead.

Concur with captain - use one of the thread adapters that will let you size your rounds and use an insert. Around here, the even specific FSR have been smaller than .686, so if you use the HH threads, rounds will slide out of the standard bore barrel. This also lets you size your rounds and use the correct insert or fin, which has a big impact on consistency, and in turn, long range accuracy.

If ya'll already didn't know, FSR won't break when it touches the rifling @ 300fps.

I put a 10" lapco BSA on a spyder hammer and chronoed 300fps.
Then I attached a hammered barrel link adapter and a bangstixx, fps didn't go up or down.
The lapco barrel + hammerhead barrel did have more fps compared to the hammerhead fin + hammerhead barrel.

It's just something to think about if you want more efficiency.
I couldn't tell you if you lose rpm/accuracy though.
