Bought a bubba'd T2

Bought a T2 here, came in the mail, aired up, shot, felt rough, small line leak, packed it up. Came back to tech it a month later and noticed it wasn't cocking or shooting. Read a couple threads and found the problem (here).

The frame on this T2 was completely out of alignment. I had to use a rubber mallet to knock the frame forward enough to access the allen screws. Out comes two different screws...

Can someone provide me with the correct screw specifications? Thanks!

Thanks!

Sad: Back/short screw threads are completely toast. Someone monkey armed the threads cattywampus at an angle.

I put her back together without the back screw and it holds up, cocks/shoots fine. But for how long not sure.

sounds like a job for HELICOIL!

seriously though, you should definitely helicoil that or some other kind of thread repair like a keensert

it's between the body and the frame, nobody's gonna see it, and it will be as good as new

and if you cant do it, or aren't comfortable doing it, there's plenty of folks here who can

Thanks man, I think I can handle it. Chrono'd between 287-292 though, impressive for missing an important screw.

ive actually never helicoiled anything, hence why i put that disclaimer at the bottom lol

id be nervous trying it out on my T2, id want a spyder or something to practice on first

the plus side is that the screw just holds the frame to the body. i definitely wouldn't recommend any snake dives though

Sounds like a PP claim to me. An undisclosed stripped out body isn't something i'd accept.

Yeah, I'm kinda torn on a PP claim. I give people the benefit of the doubt. I'm operating on the assumption this wasn't his regular shooter and he was just offloading guns in his collection. I also wouldn't have paid $650 for a stripped body. Not even half that. Not my kinda jazz.

After researching helicoil there's definitely no way I'm doing that myself either. Unless someone here raises their hand I'll be bringing this into my gunsmith.

I know its not normally an issue but it would be really nice if CCM did a brass or stainless threaded insert. At the same time though I think people just tinker and take stuff a part way more than they need to be. LOL

I dont know if this helps but, Jason Antle is helping me with some stripped out issues I am having with a marker I recently purchased on MCB as well. I believe he is the AngryAntle guy on FB. Jake Berenyi pointed me in his direction. He may be able to help you with the helicoil.
