Just got a Nelspot 007!!!

Hi all!

I bought myself a nice specimen last weekend at living legends - a nelspot 007!

Ive already watched several bacci videos on 'em, and ive been able to take it (mostly) apart and service it. Its shooting 200fps with my reball right now, which, given the difference in bore size to projectile, i am completely satisfied with.

Its a 2 -hole valve, and the sear has a pressure fit pin holding it in place on the hammer. There is no slot to let me slide out the bolt/hammer assembly without taking the sear off.. which is kind of a PITA, but, i can do it - i just dont want or need to, as it works just fine.

All of this i think gives it away as a bone stock 007. And its staying that way .

I do, however have a question that im hoping you oldschoolers can help me with. I took off the right grip panel to check its DOB - AND THE YEAR HAS SCRATCHED OFF!!!!!

It looks like they just spattered some enamel paint on the grip frame and stamped the date of manufacture into the paint. I cant see if the stamp goes into the metal (like the examples ive seen online), but im also not gonna scratch away at the paint that is there to find out.

Does anyone know the year that this could have been made? Are there any specific design attributes that might help narrow it down?

Oh, yeah, here are some pics of this sexy beast:

(Edit trying to post pics but running into technical issues- please stand by)

Yeah, it is... except for the date stamp

Its also missing the red warning label on the left side of the grip above the trigger, but, oh well.

I kind of just want to keep it in its original shape.

If I were to do anything, it would probably be something to prevent roll-outs. Thats definotely its biggest problem right now.

At some point i might contemplate slotting the body for quick-strip, and drop lapco internals in her... But, thats not something thats going to happen in the forseeable future. Its shooting nicely right now, so why mess with it

That said, i may still hoard parts for it...

If freak boring isnt an option i would suggest nail polish, free (if you have a woman in the house) and does wonders on the field.

You might want to add a pump handle or wear a left-hand glove. If not, enjoy your future finger scar.

Oh and nice score.

I do have a woman in the house - Ive heard of the nail polish trick, but ill have to research it a little more before im comfortable doing it. I have a feeling its going to be fiddly gettingthe polish 8n the right place down the barrel, and require lots and lots of nail polish to stalactite into that massive breach.
