Catching up on old projects

Did some cleaning and found some old projects to start tinkering with again.

First was a modified Sheridan. This was done for a member 7years ago and it never got finished. I did the breech and big Matt stuck it together and did a valve job.

Second was originally inspired by kens scouts. I decided regulated 12ies would be more suitable.

Lastly is an old pursuit pistol. This was one of my first brass jobs. Adding the super stocker style feed. The significant thing in this picture is the brass insert standing up. .690 OD .678ID X 2". (Yes that is .006" wall!)Ready for install. This is going to be a game changer for fixed barrel guns and barrels difficult to freak bore.

Looking to get some tinker time with them between some other jobs.

How do you plan on keeping the insert in place? Wouldn't mind a couple for my PGP if it works out. Love that thing, use it more than anything else, but it needs a better bore to barrel match to be effective in this day and age.

it will be a shrink fit one time install. So hopefully paint doesn't go back to .69 size.

When do you think this will become a service?

Heck, I'm running a .689 back on my pepperstick, and that seems to hold just fine, can't go any smaller, don't have any bigger. So, we may be closer to the .69 on cheap paint than we think. But, I do use cheap paint cause I'm a cheapskate. This last case has lasted me about 3 or 4 weekend if play though, so I might step up quality since I don't seem to blow through it like I used to.

Up in the PNW our paint is .682 at its biggest. I have either a .678 or .675 in all my guns.

Phy I'm not sure that it will be feasible. I need to do a few of my guns first to decide.

The premium paint they sell around here, usually marbs, tends to run 681-684ish. I don't even bother with the field grade stuff any more, it was rolling out of my 678 barrel. I've got a old nelspot that doesn't take barrel extensions I'd love to have this done to. I can't imagine it could be hurt by the process if it doesn't work out so I'd be willing to be a guinea pig.

Well, down here in Florida, the humidity is pretty high, so it might be some swelling that causes it, but I know most who use the cheap paint at our field are running a .689.

Think this would work in an aluminum unibody Nelson? Heating the body and freezing the insert? I have a bore drop that could definitely use this treatment.
