So after paintball smrf dashed my hopes and dreams of designing my own trigger assembly, and because i love beating dead horses, i have been doing some research - and i think Ive found something... Check out the 3 way pulse valve in this FabCo inventory catalogue (1st valve listed)

I think its small enough to fit in an e-grip frame (some slight modification may be required) and all of the ports appear to be oriented in line with the width of the valve. Its possible that all i need to find now is a way to covert the 1/8NPT thread to accept a barb fitting.

Edit: the attached .PDF wasnt working. Try this link: https://www.fabco-air.com/pdf/Sec_13.pdf

Edit 2: aaand i just realized the minimum pulse time is 3/4 of a second. Back to the drawing board. Nothing to see here.

Those are nifty. You trip over them when you are looking at MSVs.

Typically, you're looking for a pulse on the order of 10 msec, resetting over 50 (20bps) to 100 (10bps) msec. If you get in that ballpark, you could probably adapt some other part to get it to work.

The reset time is related to the amount of air behind the piston. If they aren't too expensive I would grab two of the 3/4 second ones to see if they can be modified to shorter duration.

This is a slightly more fulsome catalogue page : https://wfdonline.com/Catalogs/Fabco/specialvalves.pdf

It looks like if i want something that will make it an autotrigger (of sorts), the pulsve valve is the way to go. If I just wanted to make a controlled release semi-auto, it looks like the interval delay valve is the way to go.

So I was looking at the Fabco valve, and found a few on Ebay for around $20 each shipped... Then I realized... An older, non quick switch, two oring variety 3/4 way is about 1/2 of what we need. If a cap were created, and a piston head mounted on the 3/4 way shaft, with an oring, and a very small air passage drilled, this would be the equivalent of he Fabco OS-1. Plus we can control the speed by use of a needle valve, and maybe add a spring to return the 3/4 way to resting position faster.

Of course I may just be rambling on mindlessly

Thats pretty much how this thread got it's start. Our intentions are good but the practicality of our ideas is questionable.

Im determined to make this happen, though. Usually if you throw enough money at a problem, you get a solution... Im just still in the "I can totally do this myself for cheap, I just need to figure out how" phase of development. We'll see how it goes.

I said the same thing and now I have $25,000 in machines and stock, while a multitude of awesome customers and interesting projects. Be careful... it's a trap!

I am fortunate to live in an area with a plethora of places to play. Most of my efforts go into finding new things to shoot or how to modify old things to shoot.

Right now, I have an 05 Ego without any internals that is begging to see life as something mechanical. Noids and boards for this 12 year old marker are almost impossible to find but I love how it feels in my hands.

If someone could figure out how to make a drop in solution for these old markers, I'd be first in line to buy one. I already have 3 of the mech Ion conversions from Two Fat Guys and am ready to play with a new conversion.
