Modular 3d Printed Winchester-style Hoppers!

So who wants one?

I'm calling it the Hat Trick - a 3-part Winny, get it? Haha. I'm so punny.

I don't have my 3d printer yet so this is just my design. No, I'm not releasing the files, so don't ask

Not sure what price will be yet but I'll update when my printer arrives in a few days.

And yes, that's a built in Phantom-style feedcap in the lid.

You're on a roll buddy! Looks great.

Tipx shells might be another cool albeit painful project lol.

Double FYI for paintball rules there should be no "offer" of surrender, its either mandatory surrender at X distance when guy is behind you or no surrender and you get shot in the booty. "offer" of surrender makes for some ridiculous and dangerous john woo tactics.

Yeah you hear a lot of guys searching for a different looking shell or a more 1911 looking shell. I a buddy made me a wood version of shells to try but I've been slacking in trying to get it done.

Nice to see someone being creative

You know I could probably do it. But I don't have a TiPX and don't wanna buy one. If someone would loan me one for such a project though....

I'm updating the design continuously. I have the lid just about perfect, but I'm trying to see if I can get away with a 2 piece design for the body.

I'm thinking the base will be universal but the forward/top part of the hopper can be changed, a la most top end electronic hoppers. Is there interest in that kind of feature or is it overkill for a pocket hopper?

If the standard holds 55-60, the small would be maybe 30-40 and a large 70-80. Maybe even a special small shell that doesn't have a flip lid, but just a feedgate.

I'll post some more pics later, but basically I'm going with the two piece design for the hopper body, fitted together then locked in place by the collar of the lid. The feed neck and hopper belly will be one piece, then the nose/top will be the other, with the pod stem also divided between the two. I'll enlarge the feedneck OD to fit standard elbows and beef up the lower body proportionally.

I'm hoping my design will allow the hopper to flex and not break when hit. The lid was itself will use magnets to open and to stay closed, along with the traditional friction lip of typical pod lids. I think I'll also change the feed gate design so it's lower profile.

I'm excited about this one. If I can pull it off it'll be the Aston Martin of pocket hoppers.
