First nelson-based build

I've only ever owned one nelson-based gun, and played with it one time. A bone stock maverick. Everyone is so crazy about phantoms, but I don't want to spend the money on the phantom I'd want. In comes this 'close enough to a phantom' CMI Diablo Deluxe.

First picture is the way I bought it. I just got it in the mail today and it's nice and clean inside.

Next thing I did was pull off the lonestar grip and install the ICD 45 grip off my 'spump'. I'd like to find something in between these two. Maybe a euro grip, if I can find an adapter that I can bolt a drop onto(I want to run it off a 45/45 raptor).

I think I'm going to modify a tippmann asa into a 15 degree reversed VA to mount a foregrip. Not sure if I want to bother plumbing air to it, or just run straight up to the back bottle.

Next mod is going to be cutting off the feed to make room for a vert feed sleeve. I'll be cutting down a Mag sight rail and modifying it to use an old style tabbed spyder feed neck

After I get that all sorted out I'll be building a full undercocking setup. Probably just a single guide rod since the frame already guides the pump rod.

Lastly, if I'm happy with how all that works out, I'll be sending out to be cocker threaded.Screenshot_20180602-100851.jpegIMAG0459.jpeg

I believe so? The bolt has a hex center. These are completely out of my wheelhouse.

Seems like a build I did a few years ago, if you have any questions please let me know.

Yes they are
That's where I came up with the idea to use the Diablo. I linked your build thread on my thread asking about cocker threaded 'nelsons'.

I have one like this, cool to see another on the forum.

They are velocity adjustable with a tool down the barrel.

Mine also has an adjustable trigger sear.

Barrel is gigantic bore and there are no detents.

Only thing I've done to mine is weld on a rail from a Spyder.

Here is mine:

How did you install that ASA?

It wasn't installed in that pic. It is now though. Drilled and tapped the trigger guard for a 10-32 screw

Mocked up. Asa mounted. Drilled the valvebody for a side port. Installed an asa adapter and gauge in the back. The braided hose is too short but I think I might do hard lines. At least from the asa to the valve. I think I'm gonna run my raptor on it, so it wouldn't make sense to hard line the bottom.

Making some chips. Not the most precise setup, but far better than a dremel. Pretty much pressure fit. I'm gonna put two 4-40 set screws in either side, then the frame screw will run up through as well. IMAG0466.jpegIMAG0467.jpegIMAG0468.jpegIMAG0465.jpeg

Well here's where I made it tonight. I decided to make it pretty and ditch the set screw idea. It needs to be sanded finer in order to actual take a polish, but I was excited to shine it up lol. Still need to drill for my guide rod and cut a slot for the pump rod.IMAG0471.jpegIMAG0470.jpegIMAG0469.jpeg
