Zap ZXS600e modernizing

So. This is now the 3rd one of these I've owned. Other than dry firing them for testing, I've never shot one. However I really dig the overall design and oddity of them. But, of course, me being who I am I can't just leave anything stock.

Here's some pics for those who aren't familiar with the operation. It's like a FASOR ICD cat. Vertical valve, HUGE solenoid, no HPR. The bolt and ram are one piece, which is also heavy stainless. The bolt through the top holds the guide for the return spring.

I'm thinking. Open up the valve passages and respring, hopefully run off a low pressure tank and reduce kick. Much smaller (lighter) 3 way solenoid. More modern board. Delrin bolt if I can get someone to make it for me for a reasonable price.20190209_154939.jpeg20190209_154930.jpeg20190209_154924.jpeg20190209_154846.jpeg

Had one that worked. Really wacky little markers but also very neat in thier own ways. Best $15 i spent on a marker.

I think it would have been more popular if they made it more standardized. Like spyder or cocker threads and an asa that wasnt built into the LPR. Especially in the days where people ran drop forwards.

Lots of cast aluminum parts and the play in the lever were 2 killers of the gun. Despite that, I like them and would love to see this project. I would absolutely buy an 800e if I could ever find one.

Gonna run the LPR inside the frame and feed it through a hose from the gauge port on the THOR. I'm just gonna drill and tap a 1/8" npt plug for 10-32 and do the same on the block in the frame. Probably swap the macdev LPR out for a tickler or one of those tiny SP(yuck) LPRs.
I need to find a small board that fits above the lpr and below the battery tray. DM4 board is too big.
I found a small SMC 3-way solenoid (S070-sgb-32) that already has the giant 1/8 barbs this thing uses.

Nope. This is a vertical valve poppet style marker. Aedes used an mq valve.

I can't picture this for the life of me. I know this seems stupid, but is there a diagram somewhere?

Here's an exploded diagram. Think of it like a wrath but with the hammer and bolt combined. The tip of the bolt has a slot along the bottom that follows a pivot. When the bolt reaches the forward position it hits the pivot which pushes the valve pin down. The valve is in the vertical chamber at the front. Air comes up through the bolt. Theres a spring inside the rear of the bolt that returns it.
