mlz - I don't have the skills to work on games like Halo. The talent and skills required of their artists is way above what you'll ever see in industrial product design, besides maybe the car industry. Some of those guys make Michelangelo look like a schmuck, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that. I was fortunate enough to work as a concept artist for a year but couldn't make it stick as my skills weren't up to it.
Also the concept art industry sucks to work in. 3 month rolling contracts, crazy hours, insane deadlines and zero job security anyone? How does 15 minutes allowed per finished prop design sound?
Rain - nah, I don't have the contacts or the equipment to actually do anything beyond draw pictures. Short of someone picking them up and running with them (be my guest) they'll only ever be doodles.
