Home brew soft ears

I love the JT spectra/flex mask but the ear armour that the Proflex comes with is horrible. Its too small, thin, and tears easily.

I remembered seeing some foam toy kits at the craft store one day when I was dragged in by my wife. They had sheets of foam in various thicknesses in tons of colors that was cheap. 20 minutes with a bandsaw and a drill press and here is the result. Completed for less than $7.

Those are pretty classy.

Of course if you are local there is always delivery by trebuchet. However, either method of delivery requires wrapping in a plastic bag to prevent leakage of urine.<from pickle>

the brand name for foam sheets is "foamies" most craft stores carry heaps of colors in 6mm sheet or 2 tone with 2x pieces of 3mm.

Losing your hearing isnt worth looking cool IMO. Ive never seen a soft ear that made me feel protected. Ear hits are no joke.

I feel that these are far safer than the stock soft ears. The big plastic ones are also good but a shot to those can really ring your bell. I think the foam takes some of the force out of it. Believe me when I say that I made these not to look cool but to be safer.
