It's spraypaint man. It's almost always best to rough up the finish so the paint has something to hang on to.

it isn't necessary but I did strip off the powdercoat.I just used some heavyduty arasol can paint stripper. then lightly sand the surphase of the gun. paint some krylon brand primer. then use 2 coats of your first camo color.(the really light satin ivory color was mine) cut out some digi cam stencils out of painters tape using an exacto knife. place male stancils down.

this pad has most of the male stensils taken off and you can see the white where they used to be.

then paint over that with annother coat of the same color.(this will help eliminate overspray) then do the next color. (mine was earth brown) then repeat again with the green. finaly I used a tan. then I removed the rest of the stencils. then if you like the paintjob do it over with some satin overcoat.

It'd be nice to know what pressure would activate the pressure relief. If one had a mag with remote adapter, it would be fairly easy to test:

  • Rig up an inline reg and gauge between the HPA tank and remote.
  • set the inline to a nice low starting pressure.
  • screw in the SA-8 adjuster so that it no longer regulates
  • slowly increase the inline reg output pressure until the pressure relief starts hissing. Read the value on the gauge.

I'd be happy to do this if anyone would loan me the remote adapter.

it releases at some pressure above the pressure required to shoot 500 fps.
