"Speedball" fields are not appealing to me.

I am not so much concerned about how/if we bring those guys over but more about bolstering what we have here.

I am not trying to make it us vs them or speedball vs woodsball but I am looking for input on how we expose more people to east coast tournament pump paintball and how we generate more support for it.

With all due respect, I think some of you guys are nit picking certain points and maybe I am not getting the big picture across.

I love playing pump.
I love playing speedball
and I am trying to brainstorm ways to improve what we've got here on the East Coast.

I don't know if that means expose more people to it through cheaper tournaments, better prizes, better venues, innovative tournament structures...

These are the things I am trying to get at.

I think that pump player numbers start to dwindle once you pass the mason-dixon line. There's so few of us here in VA alone it makes me wanna cry, ha.

We've been wanting to run a 5 man woodsball/concept pump tournament here at Big Pearl for the longest time, but could never get the numbers to come out. It wasn't too hard when we ran the Liberty speedball fields, but even then it was hard to find quality pump teams to play.

Hopefully someday the masses of the South will realize that pump is the way to go.

honestly, i never understood why there was ever the need for prizes at a tournament. Not why i compete.

Im just going to throw this out there. Since we are playing open class anyhow, and the whole ranking system is out the window, how about this:

Two pump teams meet up for a day of play. X number of games are played. The results based on wins/losses are posted up. Cumulative results are posted. This way there is still the competitiveness w/o the hurry up and wait of a tournament. All teams will not have to show up the same place at the same time. There doesnt even have to been an end goal. Just have to have teams records posted up. Blank McBlanktowns has played 7 different listed teams, with a game record of 125-5. Idk, its late, leave me alone.
