Can you put in easy to understand terms of how they paid more attention to fluid dynamics? I'm just curious.

you shot the paint we have on this side of the pond, 693 is good as a lot of mid range/site paint can be 690+ still

That must be nice. Seeing as PE is a UK company I can see it, but then I would suggest trying a different barrel for each (Europe/North America) market.

Eclipse IS in the UK, so you'd have to understand. That'd be like selling a US gun stock with a .682 barrel in the UK, not really different.

Localization is something manufacturers operating worldwide deal with daily. North America (okay fine the U.S) is a huge market and I'd consider it big enough to warrant a smaller bore stock barrel. They already offer smaller bore backs I can't see how it would be that hard to toss one in a box for the North American market. Then again that might cut into their barrel kit business...

The barrel isn't a big deal. PE has a long history of making their products as idiot proof as possible - and in this case that means they ship their guns with an overbored barrel. You can create problems with the improper application of a small bore barrel - while the only problem you can create with an overbore is loss of efficiency.
