I just found this and it's an old thread, but I like the simple rules of modern stock class. Pump, 12 gram, and feed limitation. I think it's perfect.

I gave up on paintball when the "arms race" turned into tournament ball.. where you basically burned cash for 10 minutes at a time.

I returned when I saw the fallout from that 10 years later ... woods fields re-opening, and old guns coming back in style, and more fun for each dollar spent. I'm sure the field owners hate it though.. longer games and selling far less paint.

Our story sounds the same bro...trying to play competitive ball burned me out to the point that I took close to 10 years I'm back playing with a great group of guys and usin gear that's fun for me (sc). I don't hate on electros or open class pumps or magfed, but for me the ultimate challenge and skill is sc.

I think so fields hate it but most love it. A lot of them started playing in the 80s when stock class was all there was and they like seein it come back. As far as the money, my local field likes us old school guys as he calls us because we're consistent money. We come out every weekend whereas a lot of the speedballers can't afford that. They're hit and miss and in my experience normally disappear for the same reasons I did. Here's hoping they come back and find a way to play affordably and have fun. For me that's stock class.

Double FYI for paintball rules there should be no "offer" of surrender, its either mandatory surrender at X distance when guy is behind you or no surrender and you get shot in the booty. "offer" of surrender makes for some ridiculous and dangerous john woo tactics.
