Functionally, dye sticky 3's. They are less slippery when gunked with paint.

Ergonomically, hogues with finger grooves. They fit my hand the best.

Mine depend on a few things with the marker. The first is the trigger and tank arrangement. If it's a double trigger, I like something smooth, usually without finger grooves so that I can shift my grip easily. If it's a single trigger and the tank sits low (or over hand/back bottle), I like more grip and I can run and shoot with one hand.

The second thing is the width of the frame. Most clamshells are on the edge for carrying around for one or two days of play for me. I like thin panels on those, but thicker grips (and some wrap-arounds) on skinny frames.

Last is the weight distribution with a load of paint or when pumping. Some markers like an old matrix can be front heavy, depending on the loader, and some pumps can be a pain wiggling around if you are not strangling it. I have changed out some nice custom grip panels when they just didn't play out.
My Feedback

some things are stickier than others

Well, the R7 already comes with Hogue Palm Swells, so I will have a set of those when it arrives (Thanks Josh ).

I have a set of Stinger Flat Panels on my Invert Mini (it's in the picture thread). They are good/alright. I am definitely going to get a set of Pachmayr Gripper or Signatures. Don't like the look of the wood on the American Legend for the applications I have. No one seems to have anything bad to say about Dye Stickies either so I will look into a set of those too.

Finger grooves are hit or miss with me, so I might pick up a set of the Pearce inserts just to try. I held a friends Trracer that had the Hogue Palm Swell wraparounds and they were really nice...

My applications are a PTP Benchmark Frame on my ULE'd Minimag, the Avratech R7 and a Phantom with RTR Frame.
