Raffle etiquette?

A question to both mods and the community, on a subject of raffle etiquette.

ATM i have a whole bunch of stuff for sale, but thanks to sluggish economy, pre/post xmas money issues, and my obvious refusal to take a loss, the sale is pretty much going nowhere.
Unfortunately i do have a few holes to plug so the money is needed, and ive pretty much ran out of space. Fortunately its not at the stage where i gotta sell no matter what, even at loss, or run some kind of a charity run.

So ive been thinking perhaps i could run a raffle and offer all the items as prizes? The problem though is that all the raffles ive seen on this forum, all but one were charity/benefit drives, and one was to help the organizer (still essentially a charity drive)

My question basically is
a: whether it acceptable per the rules,
b: whether it acceptable to run a raffle for personal enrichment (although i do think, that if the interest will be bigger than my estimates, i will make a donation to either a charity , my team, or the forum)

All raffles and drives need staff approval. And yes, nearly all of them go to support something not someone. I am not sure if a raffle for yourself will get approved, but you can always ask.
