Actually, a paintball marker is a gun, an air gun...why do you need to be politically correct by calling it a marker? Who are you scared of offending?

"paintball equipment" works just fine!

I can't really narrow down to one massive pet peeve. Here's my top five, in no order:

1) Wiping hits --- I WILL HAUNT YOUR DREAMS IF I CATCH YOU!!!
2) The occasional theft like what Exdee described
3) People who think it's hilarious to unload half a hopper into the back of your head at 3 feet away at almost 30bps.
4) People who work at paintball places and just don't give a crap.
5) The paintball vs airsoft debate. < Do not touch that

What exactly is your pet peeve with this? Quality problems or shipping issues?

It screams "this gun is broken or isn't going to come how its described to when I get the gun and say its broken the kid is going to blame me".

Ok, guess it's all in how you take it. It's a standard in my BST's, but I also rarely sell complete markers. I have had a few cases of what I would call "buyers remorse" or in some cases people buying something they are incapable of tuning correctly and expecting me to take it back or spend weeks teching it for them when it worked fine for me. It's one of the pitfalls of buying used equipment, and is usually reflected in the price.

yes because Customs freak out when they see a description with the word "gun"
(try sending a "staple gun" through customs - it will probably be held up for a few weeks)

I agree it would be nice to call it what it is, but unfortunately "gun" has such negative connotations

when talking about it to other people in the sport i dont care too much, but when people talk about it in a public forum (TV, radio etc) i think it is better to use "marker" as it reduces the chance of giving someone an opportunity to misinterpret or exploit

Calling a paintball gun or marker a "gat" falls under this rule. Playing paintball does not make you gangsta boooyyyyy!

My biggest annoyance with forums is when someone Quotes a Newbie or another player who doesn't understand, and assumes this is the intelligence of the entirety of the Forum.

So the kid didn't understand what a cocker was, He was confused and thought he was right. We have those people on every forum.

This is how we got to the notion of PBN being for *******s, Spec ops for Mil-Sim nutbags and TechPB for 13 year olds.

there are Amazing people and awesome posts on PBN, there is/was really a rather large following of speedball markers and pumps on Spec ops (B-Dazle posted at least 1 trillion paragraphs on his love for his mini on the dang forums when he got it)

and Techpb actually.....well it does have a young crowd. But you will still find many older members who love to post on the information and more modern and up to date information of guns, The entire Punk-works section is Filled with Scientific method. bitches LOVE scientific method!

(Note, NOT to pick on you. But your post was an Excellent example for my point)

I once saw someone post on a FS thread on PBN for a VSC Phantom:

Heyy bro nise gat trade 4 sig u add 350

It was some ego 7 or 8 or something like that.

The seller replied "Um, no, as you can see it's FS only, I need $ for new tires"

and the moron came back and said "Well if yu change ur mind lmk thx"

I tried to bitchslap him through my computer

A couple things to point out that annoy me: "Gat", "Sig" (it annoys me when people just say trade for sig, or even more a post that just says "sig." and nothing else), text speak, and the fact that he wanted him to add the same amount as the seller's asking price...
