i too was a little disappointed that there wasnt actual paintball being played in and around a bus

the only place i have seen checking baggage on a bus was in Mexico City. they put everyone's luggage through an x-ray machine and searched all carry ons

Wtf guys.... paintball gear is not illegal luggage. hell you could take non restricted firearms with you in luggage on a bus if you liked. paintball gear is like bringing golf clubs.

Wouldn't have thought it would be a problem. Definitely wouldn't be over here in the UK...
If he's really worried, remove the frame so it looks less weapon like?

Here is the link to Greyhounds rules for baggage.
Greyhound.com | Baggage Information

Compressed gas cylinders are not mentioned as prohibited, but compressed gas IS. (except for medical oxygen) Baggage screenings are almost unheard of on domestic bus trips, but, I suggest empty tanks just to cover your patoot.

Make sure your air tank is empty and all should be good even if they do search the luggage.

Half of them wont even know what it is. I sat next to a guy that had a few kilos of weed once, and if he got on with that paintball gear shouldn't even be close to a problem.

Keep in mind TSA is doing screenings now at some bus terminals. There may be the possibility that they would want to be able to see into the tank like with air travel but I haven't heard of it happening yet. Other than that there are no restrictions against paintball gear in luggage.
