New or used Contour camera?

I was looking at getting one of these. Most of my technology purchases are bought new but I was wondering if I could make an exception with the contour since it looks pretty tough and would it be worth it to buy it used.

i'd watch for a sample video from the seller, or if it lacks one then ask for one of the owner speaking a sentence of your choice so that you know it is recent.

And how would you verify that the video actually came from the camera in question?

You videotape the camera taking the video with another camera. How do you know that one works? You get a 3rd camera and videotape the camera videotaping the camera. It's like inception.

/useless post

:]

But really, I would probably buy used.. I picked up a new gopro and could have gotten one a bit cheaper. Looking back, I probably should have.

with a mirror for like 3 seconds out of the entire video should be good enough.

if you are just getting in to shooting vids, then if you can get a second hand one at a good price is probably ok.
You can get a feel for how the cam will feel.
you can try video editing software.
So even if the picture quality isnt too great you can learn alot before you decide to make a large cash outlay

I'd pick up a used one, or a new on at a stupid awesome price.

I bought my contour roam when they had the $80 special. Never looked back.

Look into a go pro as well, it's pretty legit and comes with everything you need for paintball.

its 1080i/p or what ever it is, can't remember at the moment, comes with water proof case, shock proof, and everything.

Can buy tons of sticky mounts and many mounts that work well for paintball.

Sadly enough, I forgot sd cards for my event. If you like to see the quality of video, I have a video from summer when I went cliff jumping with it. It's amazing.

I really like the go pro's quality. It's just too bulky for me.
