The BPS war is over but the cheeta board war is in full swing! Do you really think the pro's don't cheat any more? Not all of them but I'm sure theres guys going over the speed limit with some type of cheeta board! I remember reading about a guy that had a ring with a chip in it that when he held the gun it would ramp. When he handed the gun to a Ref it was capped. So he could not be caught. Feyd...............

I could see this (or something similar) as being true.

Passive RFIDs were soooooo three years ago...

...PM me if interested....

Anywho, now it's all about faking out that silly RF transmitter.

Since the only real way to protect against cheating is standardized equipment, tournys are nothing but a cute way to get paid for kids to advertise your product.

-It's been around longer than you think.

Here's a board I pulled out of a Shocker back in probably '00 or '01. The customer had bought it used, and sent it in for a Glacier install (KM2 board with eyes.)

Those two black bars are simple reed switches, miniature versions of the usual magnetic reeds used in typical home burglar alarm systems. They were wired so that a magnet held near one side would switch on 3-shot burst, or held near the other would give straight-up full auto.

The user- presumably- would have some strong small magnets sewn into the fingertip and thumbtip of his off-hand glove. He'd just grab the gun's foregrip and, as needed, just move his thumb or fingertip up to the bottom of the gun to enable one or the other cheat modes. But hand it to a ref or chrono cop and it'd shoot standard semiauto all day long, no matter how fast or slow or in what pattern they pulled the trigger.

Doc.

We moved beyond that rather quickly as it was hard to hide. The new versions utilize a single pin on the main uP and a simple to hide inductor. Looks like it's just part of the board. The RFID tag can be hidden inside the seam of the wrist fabric.

I think 72bps-ish was the practical maximum, running dual Q-loaders at 36 or so on an e-bladed Ma-Deuce or other custom double (3000psi input double RT mag, etc). Might be able to get it up into the 80s with the latest gen of e-loaders or some exotic feeds.
