I think the balance is what makes it fun. The markers bring a lot of equalization to the field. The knowledge and experience help the OFG match up with all the extra effort of the agglet. Not that it is always equal.

Started at 10 for my birthday (dad played when I was around 2, quit because of cost), turning 15 next month. I rarely get to play because of cost though. This past year I finally got out again after not playing for 2 years, but I think I played 4 times? Not as much as I'd like.

Started around 25, now age 31. Got a bunch of scenarios and big games on my bucket list now, lol!

Sometimes I get to feeling like it's a kids game, and I'm losing a step physically (desk job and no time to work out adds to that), but I still find myself getting better on the field with experience, not worse with age.

I think all the videos you see of kids and college age people playing tournaments lends to the false feeling that it's a game strictly for younger people.

Played my first game at 11, now I am 21.
"The world is like a ride at an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it, you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly colored and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question: Is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, "Hey, don't worry, don't be afraid ever, because this is just a ride." And we ... kill those people." - William Melvin Hicks
