A field i used to play at apparently would have problems with badgers in one of the game areas there was a trench people where told not to go into because badgers lived down there might of been bs to get people to stay out of it for some other reason but that's the only story i can think of.

At my old field, moose were pretty common. They mostly ignored us, but tended to knock down our boundary tapes and whatnot.
I have photos of moose, caribou, a porcupine, ermine and bald eagles, and we saw sign (IE, poop or tracks) of brown bear and coyote.

I'm surprised that snakebites aren't more of a problem in the sport. Who checks their bunkers for rattlesnakes before sliding into them?

All the animals that migrate to our field -
Banana Spiders seem to reproduce every 5 feet
I heard in the past we would get an occasional monkey, but I have yet to see it. It's hard to tell when Wayne is yanking your chain sometimes.

About once a year I see a bear at my local field. Tons of birds and fish can be caught at the field too.

The critters mostly bug out before we really hit the field, but one time I crashed up in behind a tree with a fork in the trunk about chest-height. Hunkered down in a little hole in that fork was a chipmunk, whose eyes were as big as saucers looking back up at me. I was startled a bit, but it looked like he was about to lose control of his bowels.

In the beginning of the day safety briefing, refs at one field in my area tell the players not to shoot at the deer... I've never seen one, but supposedly it was a problem for a while...

At Bear Claw in Tn, during the opening battle of a scenario game, my son and I ran up on a turkey hen on her nest. She was not happy.
