I don't get how it does it...

There's a roller bearing in the back of the second trigger piece that rolls down and touches off the main trigger. It makes the pull a little longer but a lot lighter.

Leverage. You are pulling on the new trigger that pulls on the old trigger. The pull point between the two is close to the fulcrum of the new trigger so you get more power pushing far away from the fulcrum of the old one so it takes less force. It essentially lightens the trigger pull at the expense of making it longer.

It uses levers to get a larger moment on whatever spring/mechanism sets the gun off. It would be similar to adding a double trigger shoe to an existing trigger and only pulling the bottom one except that they have effectively folded the second trigger in front of the first.

Looks safe on a bolt action rifle, but I could see it "rollering" around on a sweaty finger and unloading 8 rounds from my BAR.308 through the engineblock of my truck, through the house behind it, and then through my neighbors truck..
