I think him not showing up was the whole point of the article, people are blowing the "role of the general" paragraph out of proportion.
If he wasn't a general and just didn't show up, would it still be worth an article?

If the Main actor didn't show for a play it would be mayhem and the show wouldn't go on, this is why they have Understudy's. Maybe scenario games with Generals should just have a "Understudy" backup General? Just a thought?

That nelspot never needs lube, shoots 2,000 ball per second, never needs reloaded, doesn't require an air source and when the paintball hits somebody the result is the same as if Chuck Norris round house kicked them.
He nick named the gun Reggie.

I had presumed that would be the XO's job.

Then in theory everything should have fallen onto the XO and he would have took charge and things would have ran normal without to much of a hitch?
I have yet to play in one of these scenario games so not sure of the operating order but I would have assumed someone would be 2nd in command and so forth and so on in case of an event that the General couldn't show.

I know the background of the game and an article like this just blows out the small details out of proportion. I will say that if you won't be at a game then don't volunteer to be a general of said game but it duties would fall under the XO to take command, as that is their job. If you have either position, General or his XO then do your job and get players, promote the game. Make your side better as this goes for both sides. Hell if you are a on a team then you hear stuff like "Payroll wants us to be on his side for next game" and you play for them while promoting the game and get more players. It is what it is, if that general had a valid reason not to be present then cool, if not then he just wasn't there then he was neglecting his duties as a team general. Life gets in the way but laziness is no excuse.

That's exactly what happened, and he ended up winning by 5 points. It's still somewhat frustrating and stressful for that next man up to have it dropped on him via text the Thursday before the game, and then according to the article have to go through the back and forth of well is he coming or isn't he all the way up to 10pm the night before the game.

And this isn't the first time he's ducked out of a leadership position of a game leaving someone else holding the bag. The main point behind all of this is that this is someone that is alright reaping the benefits of paintball celebrity status while ducking out of the work to earn it.

EXACTLY Kermitt! My ENTIRE point was that he made promises, agreed to General (which comes with certain obligations) and he did NOTHING. He could have easily called two weeks before and said I can't do it; this would have left plenty of time for everyone to regroup. He waited until the very last minute. On top of it he is calling the filed owners liars and me a liar. I have all the documented proof if ANYONE wants to see it. I have nothing to hide nor any reason to lie about AA. But plain and simple he let down a LOT of people.

I'm not there or fully know both sides of the story but if I had taken on responsibility of General in an event, or any kind of game responsibility I would take it on fully from beginning to the end and would expect anyone else taking this kind of job on to fully see it through, barring some kind of family emergency or sickness.
