I"m curious as to what ever happened to the money that a few of us donated to help cover for another marker, so he could give the stolen one back?

He nick named the gun Reggie.

I gave 15 bucks.
In my mind, Chef suffered a loss, and I didn't really care how he used the money. I just sent the money without strings.
I suppose is someone sent a large gift with strings, Chef's absence would be bothersome, but he didn't come on here to ask for money or defraud anyone. It was a nice spontaneous response to his loss.

This for me as well.

Feels like the donations weren't enough for the supposedly "ridiculous" price.

My $0.02: You possess stolen goods knowingly, you may as well have stolen them yourself. You try to sell them off, you're an extortionist or a fence depending on who you sell to. Personally I'd give them back to the rightful owner. I might hope for recompense after the return if I'd shelled out a lot for the property, but never ever expect it, or hold it against the rightful owner.

Oh yes we gave the money to Chef. Its been so long, I was thinking we had gave the $ to SEFishy.

Everyone has their own thoughts and opinions on this. But if it was me I would have just returned the marker not expecting anything in return. I do know if I had ever had any gear stolen I would greatly appreciate it if it was discovered to be mine and returned.

Those who donated gave, as a gift, what they were comfortable giving. A gift given with strings attached is not a gift.

No strings, was curious as to what happened all the way around because everyone fell silent.

I do think Chef should get his guns back,
also feel SEF should be compensated for unknowingly buying a stolen gun off an outstanding member on here..
take a look at SEFs feedback! never a problem...https://www.mcarterbrown.com/forums/s...archid=7934668

The post got on the wrong track, talking of police, making insults when it already appeared Chef and SEF were working on the return of the gun...all of this was based off their 13 min late night chit-chat(1st pg.).

now some are saying it's wrong to be curious and ask about the stolen gun funds.
for all we know, unless I'm missing something, all the guns could be back in Chefs hands right now....but we dont know because he just disappeared.
I'd feel obligated to keep everyone updated after taking donations..and some of us were waiting for one till we helped out...

The #1 point of this thread is to get Daves guns back!!!

One thing's for sure, Chef was very appreciative and surprised at the donations made to his cause.
I don't think it's too much of a stretch to assume that the difficulty/drama of re-acquiring the stolen guns has something to do with his recent hiatus from MCB, but who knows. I am sure that the funds will be used to reacquire atleast one of the guns in due time, hopefully not at twice their actual value.
