The little pin in the trigger guard is only visible from the right side of the gun, so I wouldn't count on it be something that's supposed to be readily removed

I'm intrigued if the price is right, but I need another marker like I need another hole in my head. Or a lighter wallet.

I haven't seen anything new yet.
I even checked around at the Empire booth at the World Cup last month and they didn't have any.
The package is listed as being in stock on Academy Sports' webstore and a few other sites, but I haven't yet seen any images, reviews, or videos of the gun in the hands of people outside of KEE's offices.

Also, I was actually in my local Academy Sports store earlier this week and was surprised at how much paintball gear they're carrying now- it seems like it dipped for a while (with a lot of the local Wal-Marts discontinuing their paintball offerings) but Academy seems to be ramping up their paintball stuff again. They had an MR6 in stock for $170, and an Apex 2 barrel kit with adapters to allow you to fit it to Spyders and both kinds of Tippmann threads.

So how do you clean the bolt when you break paint? Side cocking knob isn't promising for a pull pin.

Looks really cool though, so will at least get some attention there.

Well the barrel is twist lock, but I'd imagine that to get access to the bolt you'd have to unscrew the side cocking knob, pull the pullpin on the velocity adjuster/rear plug, and remove the hammer/bolt/spring guts all together.

I'm kind of glad they didn't go with a top-mounted quick-strip linkage pin between the hammer and bolt. While convenient for cleaning, it would have rendered the dorsal sight rail unusable.

I'm surprised (but then not, because of added costs) that a side pull pin design has not come about that has a detent/plunger that goes into the hammer. Pull the pin, the detent comes out of the hammer and you can remove the bolt. The bolt just has to shuttle back and forth and push the ball forward.

That's my next design project, a $60 bolt for a $90 gun. Just kidding.

The closest to that I've heard of is a Shocktech rear-cocking bolt that had a retractable lug that worked on a cam action. As you said, though, much too complicated for a janky plastic starter gun like this one.

Actually, there's a good chance such a bolt would be drop-in for this gun, but I'm not certain of the extent of the DL-9's Spyder compatibility.
